Dear
reader,
I hope this issue will satisfy you. Though not perfect
we try to make it as perfect as we can. We aim this
magazine towards the premies and don't think they will
be interested in other magazines, because, being a
devotee myself, I think that any magazine that doesn't
print Guru Maharaj Ji's satsang is horrible. Being the
editor of this magazine, I am only expressing my own
views of course. They may be wrong or right, but every
other editor has his own views to express and being no
special man I do so also. It is for the readers to
judge if I am right or wrong. They are the people to
whom this job is given, because to a man who is
thirsty water is important and he is the one who can
judge its value. In the same way, for us Guru Maharaj
Ji's darshan and his satsang are important. So we
publish the most important thing and that is the holy
words of Guru Maharaj Ji. We received a few letters
complaining that our magazine contained mostly satsang
and not worldly things. But dear premies, whatever the
world may think, Guru Maharaj Ji and His satsang is
the most important thing. If we need the love of Guru
Maharaj Ji we should meditate on the Knowledge He has
given us, understanding the importance of time, and
realizing that time never repeats itself. It is never
too late to understand and to make a firm resolution
to serve Guru Maharaj Ji and to meditate upon His
perfect Knowledge, which is the one and only way
towards the Almighty.

What is Real Love :
"You know, you could be
sitting in a restaurant having some nice food, and see
somebody really good-looking. You think, "Wow." You just
keep on looking at that person, and that person sort of
looks at you. She is attracted to you, you are attracted
to her, and it starts. Maybe you invite her to your
table, or you go to her table, and it carries on. You are
quite happy about it, and soon you think you love her.
But, is it real love? What happens after one year? You
find her boring, and she finds you boring."
The Game of Living : "Everybody is
playing games with each other. The rich one is playing a
game with the poor man, taking money from him. The poor
man is playing a game some other time with the rich man.
The government plays a game with the rich man; the rich
man plays a game of tax evasion. Everybody is playing a
game. So everybody is playing a game, and you can play a
game with them and try to get them into Knowledge. Once
they get into the Knowledge, they realize what the right
thing is, and everything is fine. There is no more game;
everybody knows what is the Truth."
It's not the Words You Should
Believe... : "What is happening
in the world: man is running after dollars and pounds.
The question is, should man run after money?....If a man
who devotes himself to making money sees something
greater than money and leaves the money that very moment,
and goes towards that other thing, it is very good. But
if he doesn't leave the money at that time, it is very
bad."
A Sacrifice is Needed :
"We all have to be ready for sacrifice, you know, because
sacrifice is real nice right now. When there will be
peace in the world, then they come to Guru Maharaj Ji
with a nice, Guru Maharaj Ji, I am ready to give any
sacrifice. "Well, take your sacrifice, keep it in your
pocket. We don't need a sacrifice right then when there
is peace in the world. We need your sacrifice right now
because now is the time to give sacrifice. Devote your
lives to Guru Maharaj Ji and spread the Knowledge which
he has given you,.."
What
is Real Love
Raja Ji gave this satsang at a public program
in Denver, Colorado in the Auditorium Theatre on 20
September 1975.
Dear brothers and sisters, this world is quite a thing, I
think. Every day we make things, things are being
invented towards a certain direction - supposedly for
peace, supposedly for our own growth - but, really, they
just bring us frustrations. Really they make us even more
unhappy.
Just as an example, they came out with the Concorde and
everybody was really happy. We could do New York/London
in three hours, and how fantastic it was. What a
marvelous invention it was for the French and the
British.
But now there are problems. When it breaks the sonic
boom, it makes a hole in the atmosphere, and it will be
very bad for the earth. So that jet, in spite of its
benefits, is a frustration; we can't really utilize it
completely. And it's just about the same with everything.
You know? We want something, and the mind says, "l must
have this," "I must have that," "I must have this." But
what we really need is peace of mind. Peace.
Egypt and Israel were fighting, and then they stopped.
But that's not peace. It's the stopping of war between
two countries, between two nations. Yet even though wars
stop, and, say, the United Nations really works and there
is no war, that's not peace. Peace has to be experienced
by every one of us, not by complete nations. First
everything has to start at home, and that's within us. We
have to experience peace within us. And we can experience
this peace by the beautiful meditation which Maharaj Ji
shows.
The meditation he shows is an art. It's not a new art; it
has always been here. In the time of Jesus Christ it was
here. All the different scriptures describe the same
thing: the Holy Name, or the Word, or whatever name they
call it. And that's what we have to realize; that's what
we have to concentrate on, that's what we have to
meditate on - the Word.
Once we can attain that, through meditation, we can be at
a very beautiful place. Our consciousness will rise; our
level will be much higher. We won't be playing any more
games with each other. We will at least be honest with
each other by saying what we think. That's the state we
have to come to in order to understand what this
meditation is all about, and what Guru Maharaj Ji is all
about.
Maharaj Ji makes receiving this meditation very simple
for us. It's nothing difficult. In the past, if we really
see, it was very difficult. A person had to wait, and do
this, and that, and this, and that. Now it's much more
simple. All we have to do is go with a childlike heart,
and he will give us the peace we have always been looking
for.
You know, you could be sitting in a restaurant having
some nice food, and see somebody really good-looking. You
think, "Wow." You just keep on looking at that person,
and that person sort of looks at you. She is attracted to
you, you are attracted to her, and it starts. Maybe you
invite her to your table, or you go to her table, and it
carries on. You are quite happy about it, and soon you
think you love her.
But, is it real love? What happens after one year? You
find her boring, and she finds you boring. She finds you
are the same old Mr. X or Mr. Y, and you think she is the
same old Ms. X or Ms. Y. You are bored completely,
because that wasn't the real love.
What we have to experience is real love, which is inside
of us. We have to open that. We have to experience this
Light that is inside us. That Light was always there.
When a child comes to this world, he has this Light. It's
the nature of a human being to like light, because that's
where we come from - Light. But, momentarily, we are
closed from it. So that's what we look for, to experience
some light. That's why we sleep at night and get up
during the day, because that's our real nature, to be in
light. But we have to find that real Light, which is
responsible for the creation of the whole universe, and
which is inside of us.
We have to seek it. We have to go to Guru Maharaj Ji and
ask him for this gift of meditation, and he'll reveal
that Light to us. It's nothing he gives to us; it's
always there. He just reveals it to us. That's the proper
word - reveal. He reveals Knowledge to us, and we are
happy. Then he says, "Okay, all systems go," and we can
really attain that Light.
All we have to do is meditate. What Maharaj Ji gives us
we always have, and all we have to do is follow the path,
meditate on it, concentrate on it, try to bring our mind
in focus, and try to attain oneness with that thing which
he shows us. Because the thing he shows us is what we
have been looking for, the main source.
Once we attain oneness with that thing, we are okay. We
know our real source, we know where we come from, and
everything can be fine. We can live in this world
together; we can have a perfect family. You know, we have
a small one, but it's not much. There are only one
million people in this family. That's not even half of
India's population. So we have to increase this family,
because that's what we have to attain - a place where
there is complete peace, a world where people love each
other, a world based on love. The axis of the world
should be love. We have to base it on love instead of
atom bombs, because that's what everybody needs -
love.
By attaining this meditation that Maharaj Ji gives to us,
we can love, because we know the true source of love
inside of us. We can completely keep on giving love,
because we know the source. I can only give you a certain
amount of love, but because I know the source of love, I
can always go and get some more and give it to you. That
source is infinite, and I can always keep on giving it to
you. And you can do the same thing once you find the
source of love, the vibration from where everything is
coming, the thing which is running us, which when it goes
away from us we are called dead. Maharaj Ji shows us that
thing, and that's what we have to meditate on, that's
what we have to realize.
Maharaj Ji gave this beautiful festival in Essen,
Germany. It was really beautiful, because there were all
these people - the Italians, the French, the British, the
Danish, the Scandinavians - and in spite of the language
barriers and the cultural barriers they have, everybody
was experiencing the same love, because everybody had the
same source, everybody had experienced the same thing. It
was very easy for them to be together.
It's like, when a conference gets together for an AAA
convention, everybody has a common interest there.
Everybody is a member of AAA, so everybody can get
together, and they can talk about certain things. The
same way there. Everybody wasn't a member of anything,
but everybody had experienced the same thing. Each person
had experienced something which everybody else had
experienced. And he was happy because he had attained a
certain realization, which a lot of other people there
had, too.
They couldn't really communicate so beautifully. I was
speaking English, and other people were speaking in
Italian or French, but still they could get the message.
Even though the language was not the same, the sense was
still being communicated because the love was there. What
they were trying to communicate was love and it was
understood. That's what we have to achieve - a state of
the world where we can easily communicate without any
problems, without anything in between us. And we can only
do it by attaining this meditation.
All the different scriptures in the world say that we
have to attain that. That's why we have to break the
different language barriers. And all we have to do is
receive this Knowledge, receive this meditation, and it
will really help us a lot.
Love is everything we are looking for, really. That's
where it's at - love. So we try different things, we
really get into certain things, like booze, or women, or
whatever, hundreds of different kinds of things. We
think, "Okay, that's it. Let's get high on this, and
let's get high on that," or "Let's get into this." But
after a time, we get really tired of it.
A really good example of it was Onassis. He was really
rich and he was doing everything. He was a billionaire,
he had everything, a beautiful yacht, beautiful cars,
something none of us have. All of us think we would be
very happy to be in that state, if we had all that. Then
we'll say we're in paradise.
He had everything. And then his son died. Everything he
was doing was actually for his son, so when his son died,
he was really unhappy. It was quite a blow for him. He
said, "What am I doing now? For whom I am making it?" If
you have been following the whole story, everything
really went downhill for him then.
At that point, what he needed was love. He didn't need
money. For him, he had been through the whole trip.
What he needed was some love. He needed the source of
love, something to meditate on, this Knowledge. But then
he passed away.
A lot of people think, "Okay. Maybe I can make a hundred
thousand dollars and then I can retire in a farmhouse
somewhere and I'll be happy." But they attain a hundred
thousand dollars, retire to a farm, and they are still
not happy. They want to do some more. For this person, he
had attained everything he wanted to; he had just about
attained everything he himself dreamt of having. He
started from nothing and attained everything himself. He
had the world's most beautiful yacht, and everything, but
that didn't mean anything to him. He was tired of it. And
then he just passed away.
That's how so many of our lives are unless we attain this
beautiful Holy Name, this Knowledge, this meditation.
Just a blank life. We come in this world, do our thing,
and go away. Finished. But why we come in this human body
in the first place is to attain a certain thing, to know
where our source is.
And it can be really simple. All we have to do is look
for it. It's got a very simple test. The simple test for
this Knowledge is that you are happy; you are what the
young generation calls "blissed out". You are satisfied.
You don't want to say, "Okay, I have this, no, maybe I
should have that, no, maybe I should have that." That's
all irrelevant.
What is relevant for us, then, is being happy, and making
sure other people are happy, too, sharing this experience
of happiness with other people. That's what we have to
achieve. It's very easy. All we have to take is that
certain step of making sure we really want it, and like
Maharaj Ji says, "If you take one step towards me, I take
hundreds towards you."
In Denver, Maharaj Ji is a big figure. And it's very easy
for us to get into, "Oh, he has all these cars," and,
"Oh, he has all these material things," and, "Oh, he has
all this," and, "Oh, he is all this." But, you know, for
him, a beautiful Rolls Royce is just a big chunk of
metal. He doesn't care. For him it doesn't really matter.
I have experienced this for myself. I am quite close to
him, and I can see that it doesn't really matter to him.
All he really wants is people loving each other, people
living in this perfect world, and trying to make this
world a place where they can be really happy, a place
where people treat each other like human beings. And this
meditation can do it. It has certainly done it to me, and
done it to the friends I have, and I think it can do it
to every one of us. All we have to do is try to attain
it.
It's funny, you know. Once you get into this Knowledge,
it's always there. It's happening constantly. Even though
we don't realize it sometimes, it's always happening. You
are eating, and you are still doing it; you are sitting,
you are still doing it; you are sleeping, you are still
doing it; you are driving, you are still doing it. So you
can really easily concentrate on it.
It's a very subtle thing, but it's always there, it's
always happening, and you are with it always. All you
have to do is realize it, and meditate on it. Realize it.
That's all. And that's all I have to say, really. Know
that Word, know that Holy Name, know that Light, know
that source of peace which is inside us. That's the only
way we can attain peace, to realize it ourselves.
If I came here and said, "Okay, ladies and gentlemen, I
am going to give you a big lecture on how clean we should
dress," and I was terribly dressed myself, you'd laugh at
me. You'd say, "Look at him. He is not doing it for
himself, and he is telling us to do it." In the same way,
that's what I am telling you, that I have realized this
Knowledge and it has done something for me. I have been
really benefited by it. So it's a beautiful experience, I
think, for you to have, too. And then you can really help
Maharaj Ji in his cause of making this whole world a
beautiful family.
I think that's all I have to say. Thank you very
much.
The Game of
Living
(And It Is Divine, Volume 2 Issue 6)
Dear premies, to enjoy everything but not to be
attached to it is impossible unless you see everything as
a game, a game to which you are not attached. As soon as
you are attached to a game, nothing works. You get
uptight. Suppose for a moment you are racing and somebody
overtakes you. If you think it is a game, O.K., you let
him pass. But as soon as you take it seriously, seriously
enough, then you get mad at him. "You overtook me!" You
downshift your car, you upshift your car, you try to
overtake him, something happens; you might be in an
accident. As soon as you start getting uptight, things
start getting wrong. Uptightness starts the fall, from
beginning to end.
If you're giving people satsang, think it is a game -
that you are a puppet and your duty is to convince this
man. Or think like this: that you are an actor and he is
an actor, too. There is a camera hidden somewhere you
don't know about, and your duty is to convince him of a
certain thing which is existing. Or you are an insurance
man and you have to sell him insurance. Just convince him
of that, thinking there is a camera hidden somewhere, and
the director will say, "O.K." to the act you perform when
he is convinced. If he is not convinced, so what? It's
O.K.; it's just somebody's film you are getting in on.
It's not your film; it's his film being wasted. Just
think of everything as a game and everything will go
fine. But as soon as you get uptight about it... if you
go to somebody and he doesn't assent, you get uptight
about it, he'll get uptight, you'll get uptight, the act
will get uptight - everything will go wrong. So, if you
think of everything as a game, everything will flow.
This meditation is there to cool your brain. The mind
sees something, snap! There it goes. But then there is a
meditation jam which is like anti-skidding brakes. Bang,
bang, bang . . . the brakes don't get burned, but at the
same time it's stopped. And that's what Knowledge does.
It doesn't take your mind somewhere; so it goes and never
comes back. It just keeps it under control.
So, all you have to do is meditate and have the
experience. And try to live the same experience again and
again. And tell people about the Knowledge. We have to
live with Knowledge; we know that. By having the
Knowledge and leaving afterwards, nothing will happen.
You have to propagate the Knowledge in as many ways as
you can, by different ways. I don't know what everybody
does, but in their own fields they can propagate
Knowledge because they have the experience. They can if
they try hard enough - not getting uptight, just playing.
I mean, the whole world is a picture. There is a picture
inside a picture inside a picture. And a game inside a
game inside a game.
Everybody is playing games with each other. The rich one
is playing a game with the poor man, taking money from
him. The poor man is playing a game some other time with
the rich man. The government plays a game with the rich
man; the rich man plays a game of tax evasion. Everybody
is playing a game.
So everybody is playing a game, and you can play a game
with them and try to get them into Knowledge. Once they
get into the Knowledge, they realize what the right thing
is, and everything is fine. There is no more game;
everybody knows what is the Truth. This American man
wrote a book, Games People Play a really funny book. It
says: "Not knowing what they are doing, in their
subconscious people are playing games with each other."
That's what happens in the world. Take anything people
are doing, anything. Like, "Be nice to me, I'm not
feeling well." Things like that. In their subconscious
they are playing games.
Once you have this Knowledge you can see who is playing
games or not. Then you stop playing games and become
serious. But once you have realized the Knowledge, very
good, strong enough, then start playing games like
horseplay, for the heck of it. You have the meditation
there; you have the Knowledge there. You try to do
service in the way you can. Then we have a whole life, a
future full of prosperity for us, no problems at all.
It's not the Words
You Should Believe...
SATSANG OF SHRI RAJA JI
- Bristol, 6 January, 1973
It is only by the Grace of Guru Maharaj Ji that all our
efforts are turned into success. When one comes to see
the exhibition here in this hall, one really sees what is
happening in the world: man is running after dollars and
pounds. The question is, should man run after money? I
don't say no, because to a certain extent it's alright;
money is necessary to live. Many people want to have
Rolls-Royces and other things. All that is very nice, but
there is something more important and that is that we
must respect Him who has given us life. We should give
Him the greatest respect. Not the kind of respect that is
given by a person who earns a lot of money and gives some
donation to a church. It's very good to go to church,
very nice. But if this man's heart is black and outside
he is showing everybody that he is giving this donation,
this is no use, because a man should be pure on both
sides, inside and outside.
If a man who devotes himself to making money sees
something greater than money and leaves the money that
very moment, and goes towards that other thing, it is
very good. But if he doesn't leave the money at that
time, it is very bad. So I believe that loving money is
very good but only to a certain extent, to the extent
that is really needed. But the moment you see something
better than what you are using your money for, you should
leave the money and go after that thing.
We have all come in this world to learn something. But
what do we have to know? Some people think that we are
here to earn money, but the idea behind earning money is
just that it enables us to live in this world. A man who
earns very little money is alive just as a rich man is
also alive. Both men are living, and maybe one is happy
and the other is sad. Now suppose one of them has
Knowledge; I know that the person who has Knowledge will
be happier, although it might not look that way from the
outside. But inside he is very happy for he knows that
whatever he is doing, it does not matter, because his
Lord has given him contentment by showing him the Light
and the meaning of life. He has received the only
Knowledge that can give him inner contentment and peace.
So it is because he has received the Knowledge of Guru
Maharaj Ji that he is very happy.
You might be saying that I am saying this because I am
His brother. But this is not so because it might have
been someone else who told you about Guru Maharaj Ji. I
am really one of His devotees myself, and if you ask any
devotee here about Guru Maharaj Ji he'll say that Guru
Maharaj Ji is everything for him. And I agree with this.
But if you don't believe in my words, or in the words of
any devotee, don't believe, just wait. A time will come
when you will want to know more.
You see, if we have food and we don't eat it, the food
will not automatically go inside our stomachs, and we
will not be full. We have to eat, we have to take spoons
and such things and eat the food. So in the same way, if
you want to check our words to see if what I am saying is
true, you should first go to other places and search for
God, and when you don't find peace and happiness, keep us
in reserve, return to us, and we will give you
Knowledge.
Now Guru Maharaj Ji has come into the world to give
Knowledge of Truth. See, I think He is the Perfect Master
and when you receive this Knowledge you will also think
the same, but because you have not, you do not think so
now. Guru Maharaj Ji is from a royal family. It would
have been very easy for Him to stay in the country where
He was born. But for the benefit of the people of the
world He has left His country and traveled to so many
countries. If you ask Guru Maharaj Ji what He wants to
do, He says, "I want to study." He wants to lead the life
of a schoolboy, a simple boy, but because of us He is
leaving His studies. He is Perfect Master and it would
have been very easy for Him not to give us this
Knowledge, and to just study and have the Knowledge
Himself. But you see, great souls, the Guru Maharaj Ji's
of their time, came only to reveal this Knowledge. Jesus
came in His time, and though He showed the people that He
was just a carpenter, actually He was carpenter of human
beings. He made bad people good, and good people
better.
So now it's the same thing with Guru Maharaj Ji. If He
had remained in India and kept the Knowledge for Himself,
He would not have spread it all over the world. Great
people always take birth for other people. So in the same
way, Guru Maharaj Ji has come to give us Knowledge, and
now it should be our duty to get this Knowledge. We
should try and get it, we should go to Guru Maharaj Ji
and ask Him, "May I have the Knowledge?"
The way to receive Knowledge is to go to Guru Maharaj Ji
with a child's heart Ä like a child who wants to go
to school, and who when he goes to school really studies.
You should go to Guru Maharaj Ji in the same way and ask
Him for Knowledge. But first of all, you must come to a
neutral stage, you must lose your attachment to
materialism, and to come to a neutral stage satsang is
very necessary. After hearing satsang you should go to
the mahatmas and ask them for Knowledge with a child's
heart, not with the heart of a big professor.
The greatness of Guru Maharaj Ji is that He comes to our
level, our low level, to make us understand everything.
When a teacher wants to teach his students something he
goes to the level of the students, but the students can't
go to the level of the professor. In the same way, Guru
Maharaj Ji comes to our level to make us understand
everything, and because every man has different
understanding, different powers of understanding,
different ways of understanding, Guru Maharaj Ji deals
with each person at his own level. That's His greatness.
So now there are two necessary points. One is to meditate
if we have got Knowledge; the other is that if you have
not got Knowledge you should search for it, and if you
don't find it you should come to Divine Light
Mission.
You can have the necessary addresses for wherever you are
in the world. You can search right round the world, but
if you don't find this Knowledge come to Divine Light
Mission. Divine Light Mission is everywhere throughout
the world, so you can get this Knowledge wherever you
want. For instance, you can start in England, and if you
don't get the Knowledge there you can go to India.
Suppose you go from Britain to India, and you get this
Knowledge there from the Divine Light Mission, from some
Indian mahatma, then if you return to the English Divine
Light Mission and say, "I got the Knowledge from the
Divine Light Mission in India," you will be speaking
wrongly, for don't forget that Divine Light Mission is
the same throughout the world, because its Patron is our
Lord, Guru Maharaj Ji.
Some people understand the greatness of Guru Maharaj Ji,
while other people don't because they have not taken the
Knowledge. If we have the Knowledge we should meditate,
and if we don't have this Knowledge we should search it
out. If we have it, all is well and good. The object of
life, what man has come into this world for, is to gain
this Knowledge, and unless and until he has gained this
Knowledge, he cannot have contentment in this life. The
only aim of a man's life is to gain this Knowledge, so if
he doesn't have it he should search for it! Thank you
everyone.
A Sacrifice is
Needed
Shri Raja Ji, 17, Guru
Maharaj Ji's next older brother, gave this satsang in
Phipps Auditorium in Denver, Colorado, just after Guru
Maharaj Ji finished speaking. The program, attended by
1500 people, took place on June 23, 1973.
Dear Premies,
What you heard just now you can't describe at all. It
was, I think, so very nice of Guru Maharaj Ji because he
doesn't have so much time to give us, and what it means
for us we can't see.
Right now the picture I'm having is a very, very dark
world, everything dark. And in the beginning there was
only one light. Maharaj Ji came, one very, very bright
candle burning, then five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
quite a lot, lot, lot; but none so bright as him.
We are all sitting here, quite a lot of us brothers and
sisters, listening to Maharaj Ji speak. What our Lord
Guru Maharaj Ji wants us to do, you know, is to make the
whole world like that, make everyone a light, light the
whole world. That's all he wants us to do. Because he's
the main thing - he doesn't say that, but he is.
So there's a main light and all we have to do, you know,
all we have to do is to light up. We have lighted
ourselves and he is inside us, he is inside you, he is
inside me and he is inside everybody. And actually for
this time everybody has to play a certain part. What is
our part to be played? We have been lighted up and by his
grace we have to light up our brothers and sister who are
in the same position as we were once upon a time, we were
like them but we are not now. So what we have to do is
light them up. And how we can light them is everyone's
own specialty.
Guru Maharaj Ji is a teacher, a perfect teacher. Now when
you go to a school a teacher teaches you. There are only
two ways of teaching a student. Either a teacher comes to
the level of the student to make him understand
everything, or a student goes to the level of the teacher
which is very, very impossible. Because if a teacher is
teaching a small child who is five or six years old, that
five or six years can't reach the teacher. So the teacher
comes to the student and teaches him.
Guru Maharaj Ji does the same thing with us; that is his
grace. He's at top level, and there are thousands of us,
and he comes to the level of everyone of us to make us
understand what Knowledge is; he gives us the Knowledge.
What we have to do is meditate on the Knowledge which he
has given us, meditate on it, because meditation is the
very important point of it.
Guru Maharaj Ji has given us a very simple Knowledge, a
very nice thing, very good, very far out, very superb.
And what we have to do, you know, is to meditate very
hard to light up other brothers and sisters who are in
the world. We should meditate all the time and be ready
for sacrifice. We must sacrifice, this is a very
important factor. We don't know how Guru Maharaj Ji may
test us at any time, but we have to be ready for
sacrifice.
I'll tell you a little story. Guru Teg Bahadur Singh Ji
was a Sikh leader, Guru Maharaj Ji of his time, and he
had many devotees. This was the time when the Muslim
kings were trying to change their religion, Sikhism. Many
people, many devotees came to Guru Maharaj Ji to tell
him, "Guru Maharaj Ji, save us, you have to!" So Gobind
Singh Ji, Guru Maharaj Ji's son, said, "Guru Maharaj Ji,
a big sacrifice is needed." That's all Guru Maharaj Ji's
son said. A big sacrifice is needed. Five words - that
was enough. So Guru Maharaj Ji himself went to Agra where
there was a Muslim king.
In Agra Guru Maharaj Ji gave his ring to one of his
devotees and told him to take the ring, give it to the
jeweler, who was also a devotee, take the money and bring
some food. Now Guru Maharaj Ji's ring was quite an
extraordinary ring: if one wore it one felt a bit high.
So when that devotee who was the jeweler saw that ring,
he knew Guru Maharaj Ji was there, and he went to the
king to tell him that Guru Maharaj Ji had come.
Guru Maharaj Ji was arrested and taken to Delhi in a very
small cage in which he could hardly stand up. There he
was asked by the king to show a miracle. Guru Maharaj Ji
said, "Oh, miracles are shown by magicians." I that's all
he said and his head was chopped off, as well as his
devotee's.
See, one devotee betrayed his Lord, another devotee died
with him, and a third devotee carried Guru Maharaj Ji's
body and head from that place to Guru Maharaj Ji's Holy
Mother. So that is the difference between devotees. Which
one, which category are we to be? We have to decide
ourselves.
We all have to be ready for sacrifice, you know, because
sacrifice is real nice right now.
Devote your
lives to Guru Maharaj Ji and spread the Knowledge which
he has given you, which has done so many things for you
and which will do so many things for other people.
How many are we in America? A bunch of us, only a group
of us. So what we have to do, you know, is sacrifice our
lives for Guru Maharaj Ji, and spread his Knowledge
because it's so fantastic; spread it to every place
possible in the world.
