These are the archives from Forum 7, covering the period March 2002 to July 2002 only. Archives for Forums 1 - 4 are located here. Archives for Forum 5 are located here. From August 2002, Forum 7 moved to Anyboards, which has it's own internal archive system, so site policy is that forum archives, from that date, will no loger be stored on this site. The best threads from Forum 7 and any future forums will continue to be saved in the Best of Forum section on this site. Please be aware that the topic of these discussions is one that the participants often feel strongly about, and they sometimes express those feelings strongly. Also, disagreements frequently occur. As both sides in these disagreements cannot be right, the views of the contributors to these forums do not necessarily reflect the views of the owner of this website. Therefore, the owner of this website cannot accept responsibility for the content of these archives.

From March 2002, the Hotboards Forum 7 archive files are stored as one file, not five as for earlier archives. The file can either be read on-line, or downloaded in zip form for off-line reading. Note that the archives are snapshots of the forum, and to ensure as many posts as possible are retained, the archives overlap. Therefore, if the thread you are reading appears incomplete, then a more complete version may be available in the next archive. This also means that not all posts get archived. For instance, a response to the oldest thread, posted just after an archive is run, would probably no longer be on the forum by the time the next archive is run. The archive date is the date the archive was run, so the file will contain posts up to that date. Each file contains posts for several weeks. Note also that Forum 7 is hosted on Hotboards which is subject to regular corruptions. Usually this takes the form of the same message number being assigned to two posts. When this happens, posts can appear in the wrong thread, and different posts in the index can point to the same post. Unfortunately, apart from trying to make the archive files consistent, nothing can be done about this. To read a zipped archive offline, click on its Download link. After uncompressing (un-zipping) the HTM files, you can then view them offline in your browser by following these instructions: Download the zipped archive by clicking on its "Download" link - the zipped files are approximately 300KB in size, unzipped, approximately 1MB. Save the file on your hard drive. We recommend that Windows users use WINZIP to unzip (uncompress) the file into a directory or folder. (Mac users don't need a separate program to unzip the archive.) From your browser's menu bar, select the Open or Open File option located under File to select the archive that you want to read.
